Welcome to the Rattlesnake Club, Detroit’s premier riverfront restaurant. Serving as the GM of The Rattlesnake Club, I’ve had the honored opportunity to welcome thousands to taste the passion of Detroit cuisine.
With the highest quality ingredients, seasonal menus, and exceptional service standards, we hope you enjoy every course you’re presented. To ensure your visit meets every expectation, we’ve assembled some of the finest talent in the industry. From our experienced culinary staff creating award-winning cuisine to our private dining department coordinating memorable events, our team is here to serve you.
Executive Chef – Jeff Lanctot: Chef Lanctot brought his enthusiastic and hard-working spirit to The Rattlesnake’s kitchen in 2004. Prior to manning the stoves at the Rattlesnake, Jeff was the Sous Chef at Brookshire Country Club in Okemos, Michigan, and worked for the acclaimed Chuck Muer organization at Dearborn’s Big Fish. Jeff is also actively involved with the State of Michigan’s “Team Michigan” as a chef-instructor for school lunch programs all across the state. Email – firstname.lastname@example.org
Bar and Wine Cellar
Bar Manager – Farouk Elhaje 1991-2018: With over 30 years experience in the downtown scene, Farouk is one of Detroit’s most iconic bartenders. From happy hour cocktails to celebratory martinis his beverage knowledge, clever banter, and storytelling was sure to give your trip to our bar an extra shot of enjoyment. Bar Manager – Brandon Terry: Brandon Terry, born and raised in Detroit, Mi has over 26 years of restaurant experience in the downtown scene. Over 15 years ago, Brandon found his home at The Rattlesnake Club. Brandon started off his career at The Rattlesnake as a dining room server and quickly became a leader and captain server. After numerous years serving our loyal customers in the dining room, Brandon has moved positions and is now The Rattlesnake Club’s Bar Manager. Brandon has been nominated twice for the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau’s ROSE Award, which recognizes outstanding customer service in the Metro Detroit hospitality industry.
Wine Director – Maria Papp: Born in Budapest, Hungary, Maria began learning about wine and food from her grandparents. Her grandfather owned a small but well-known vineyard at Lake Balaton that supplied all of the wines for her grandmother’s deli. In 1983, Maria moved to Austria and worked in a vineyard bottling lots of Blau Frankisch and Gruner Veltliner. She also spent time in a private cooking school in Paris and did a stage (basically an unpaid internship) at a high-end restaurant in Belgium to learn more about fine dining. Following her husband’s transfer to Indiana, Maria joined the Marriott team as an assistant manager for 8 years. Her passion for locally-grown foods led her to a local farmer in Roanoke, Indiana who owned the acclaimed Joseph Decuis, a farm-to-table restaurant and wine shop. Maria served as the assistant general manager and headed up the wine store there for over 10 years, where she also learned about raising Wagyu beef and Mangalitza pork. Maria received her level-one certification from the Guild of Master Sommeliers in 2004. She continues to learn more every day and hopes to earn her level-two certification very soon. Events and Marketing
Director of Catering Sales- Michelle Taylor: A born and raised Michigan resident, Michelle quickly grew a love for the event industry while participating in the Disney College Program in Orlando, FL. Following her program, she transferred to The University of Wisconsin – Stout. There she received a Bachelor’s of Science in Hospitality Management, along with a Gaming Entertainment Certificate & Event Management Certificate through the University. She continued to expand her knowledge by choosing to study abroad in Spain, attending the Escola d’Hoteleria de les Illes Balears, a Hospitality Management School in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. She graduated from the school with a Wine & Food Pairing Certification. From working in hotels, venues, and restaurants throughout the Midwest, she happily found her home in Detroit at The Rattlesnake. Known for her attention to detail, creativity, and passion for delivering beyond guest’s expectations, Michelle and her team have earned numerous accolades and much gratitude from happy newlyweds, corporation executives and charitable organizations alike.
Catering Sales Manager – Alina Rosca: Born and raised in Romania, Alina moved to the United States in 2011. Alina has been in the restaurant industry for more than 10 years. Alina received her Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Languages from the Foreign Language University in Romania and is fluent in verbal and written communications in English, Romanian and Italian. Alina also completed a Restaurant Hospitality Management Course in Romania. Recently new to The Rattlesnake Club Catering Sales team, Alina is very excited about the new opportunity! Alina’s creativity, passion, and motivation are a great addition to The Rattlesnake Club.
