Grgich Hills Estate Wine Dinner

Tuesday | February 25, 2014 | 6:30 p.m. **UPDATE: The wonderful people at Grgich Hills Estate have offered us a discount on the wines for this dinner and we are passing those savings on to you! Enjoy this incredible opportunity to experience one of Napa Valley’s best wineries without leaving Detroit! The price for this dinner has been reduced to $90 per person, not inclusive of sales tax or gratuity.

We are thrilled to welcome Sean Barrett, Midwest Division Manager, and the all-estate-grown wines of Grgich Hills Estate in Napa Valley! Grgich Hills Estate gained international recognition after the now-famous Paris Wine Tasting in 1976. Miljenko “Mike” Grgich presented one of his wines to a blind-tasting panel of eminent French judges. They swirled, sniffed, and sipped an array of the fabled white Burgundies of France and a small sampling of upstart Chardonnays from the Napa Valley. When their scores were tallied, the French judges were shocked: they had chosen Mike’s 1973 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay as the finest white wine in the world. Mon Dieu! The results stunned the international wine establishment and immediately earned Mike a reputation as one of the greatest winemakers in the world. Today, the Grgich family remains committed to making distinctive wines with quality, consistency and longevity. World leaders such as Presidents Reagan and Clinton, Queen Elizabeth II and French President François Mitterrand chose their wines to serve at state dinners, and they are just as proud that every single day discriminating wine drinkers count on Grgich Hills to turn their own dinners into special occasions. The Rattlesnake Club and Executive Chef Chris Franz is known for creating memorable occasions surrounding great wine and food; we are very excited to bring this exclusive dinner to you!

Garden Terrace Tasting | Envolve

Wednesday | August 7, 2013 | 6:00pm –  Established by two close childhood friends, Michael Benziger and Benjamin Flajnik, Envolve Winery emphasizes the important relationship between friendship and the enjoyment of wine. They brought on another childhood friend and Sonoma native, Danny Fay, to help build their vision of a family and friend-owned winery. The three of them have formed a team built on long-lasting friendships and their shared passion for winemaking – a team that has now grown to include each of their younger sisters who have now become an integral part of their story. In the end, their team’s focus is to educate and create honest, sustainable friendships with their customers, just as they have created within their own team. They are committed to teaching people more about winemaking, viticulture, organic and biodynamics, and much more.  Currently, Envolve’s portfolio consists of 2 brands, Envolve Wines and Epilogue Wines. All of the Envolve Wines originate from their hometown of Sonoma and are organic, biodynamic or sustainably farmed. They believe wine is made in the vineyard and more natural philosophies produce better wines. Their goal is to have low yields with high quality and a true expression of each variety. Epilogue® Wines, their latest brand, focuses on educating the consumer about wine’s magical transformation from the vine to the bottle. As an everyday drinking wine, Epilogue® is fun, educational and a symbol of friendship. So consider this an open invitation to come visit them in Sonoma, chat with them on their social media sites, enjoy their wine club and ENVOLVE yourself in the world of wine. Pop A Cork, Start A Friendship

The Rattlesnake is thrilled to welcome Mike Benziger to this event! He will be on-hand as we present seven of Envolve & Epilogue’s wines alongside Chef Chris’s live-grilled small plates, live music and cool river breezes.
