Garden Terrace Wine Tastings / Select Thursdays / June 15-August 24, 2017 / 6:00pm

Summer is almost here, Detroit! And that means it’s time for our Garden Terrace Wine Tastings! The series continues Thursday, June 22nd with Summer’s Favorite Wine: Rosé! Each week, we’ll have a new theme and will present samples of 6 wines paired with Chef Chris’ small plates. Tasting events are held most Thursdays through August 24th – see the full schedule below.

Our chefs work with Sommelier Maria Papp’s wine selections to create a lavish – and filling – small plates menu highlighting the wines. Plus they’ll be outside grilling live, right on the Terrace! The wines will be available for retail purchase, too. It’s Detroit’s best party, and it lasts all summer long!

Each Tasting event begins at 6:00 pm and advance purchase tickets are required – these events do sell out often so don’t wait! Large groups are always welcome – just send an email to Alex to inquire.

Tickets are $45 per person, plus tax and gratuity. It’s time for Chef Chris’s annual outdoor Cooking Class! Get your tickets early and join Chef Chris at the grill on our Garden Terrace (or in the kitchen if the weather doesn’t cooperate)! He’ll be showing you a fun, simple and most of all, delicious Summer BBQ Party menu! You’ll get to enjoy the meal paired with wines and/or beers PLUS you’ll take home all of the recipes AND a special gift from The ‘Snake! Seating is very limited and this event sells out fast so don’t wait – get your tickets today!

Tickets are $65 per person, plus sales tax & gratuity and includes live, hands-on instruction and a four-course meal paired with wines/beers, take-home recipe packet and special gift. Celebrate Michigan Wine Month with The Rattlesnake! We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Paul Hamelin and Verterra Winery of Leelanau to Detroit! Paul’s wines are definitely some of Michigan’s very best, his tasting room in downtown Leland (right across from historic Fishtown!!) is a must-stop on every northern Michigan winery tour and, basically, he’s just the nicest guy! Verterra Winery’s goals are simple – plant proven varietals, clones & rootstocks in the right soil, in the right vineyards, to makes wines people like. And they hit it out of the park consistently – their Rose of Cabernet Franc won “Best in Class” at the 2016 Michigan Wine Competition and their Pinot Blanc and Unoaked Chardonnay both took home gold medals as well! If you’re a wine lover – especially a Michigan wine lover – if you don’t know what Michigan wine is really all about or if you’re new to Michigan’s wines, this event is for you! You’ll savor six of Verterra’s finest wines paired with six of Chef Chris’s innovative small plates while enjoying Paul’s lively descriptions of his wines along with a few of his best stories, too.

Michigan Wines Showcase // May 1st

Michigan Wines Showcase / Monday / May 1, 2017 / Trade – 2:00-5:00pm / Public – 6:00-8:30pm

We are thrilled to once again welcome the Michigan Grape & Wine Council’s Michigan Wines Showcase! Join Master Sommeliers Claudia Tyagi and Madeline Triffon and more than 25 Michigan wineries for wine sampling and lavish appetizers created by Chef Chris Franz in our Stroh River Place Atrium. Winemakers and winery owners will be on hand during this fabulous walk-around tasting to share their finest new releases!

We were sold out for this event in 2016, so be sure to reserve your spot and purchase tickets today! Online ticket sales will end Sunday, April 30, or when all tickets are sold. If tickets remain available after the 30th, they will be $45 at the door. Vintage Michigan members receive a $5 discount per ticket.
